Nice tutorial Disy, this would be useful for new players on the tekkit server, and people new to Computercraft.
I'd just thought I'd mention that you can only have 1 text scale on a monitor at a time, just in case anyone asks how to do that.

So how do you connect it to a power source and make give give the power info about that source?

You need to use CCsensors for that, I started on one a few days ago but it was a fairly complex one so i'm not sure how easy it will be for you to use a more simpler one (or even the one I used).

mon.setCursorPos (1,2)
mon.write ("MessageHere")

The setCursorPos command will set the text to be displayed on the second line of your monitor and at the start. If you want to change which line it's on edit the second number, so change the 2 to a 3 to have the text show on the 3rd line of a monitor.

Say your message was "I like to play tekkit on my computer at night", and you wrote.
mon.setCursorPos(1,1)
mon.write("I like to play tekkit on my computer at night"

That would go off screen so you would simply add another line on the y and make the rest of the sentence, this is what it should look like in the end with the test.
mon.setCursorPos(1,1)
mon.write("I like to play tekkit on")
mon.setCursorPos(1,2)
mon.write("my computer at night")
