Windy's Guide to Teamspeak

What is Teamspeak

Teamspeak, or TS (or TS3), is a voice chat program, that allows you to connect to CityCraft's servers and talk to other players.

How do I get Teamspeak

First of all, if you are young, please get your parents permission before installing teamspeak. You will be able to talk to all sorts of people from all parts of the world, whilst this can be great fun, parents may object as you don't know the people you are talking to.

I have a PC (windows)

Channels

Within the Teamspeak Server, there are many channels. These are like chat rooms, where you can only hear the people in the same channel as yourself.

You can also text chat with people in the same channel as you, or double click on their name, and you can private message a player.

Tips and Tricks

Changing name
To change your name, you can just double click on it, whilst connected to the server, type in your new name, and hit enter.

Push To Talk (PTT)
If you go into settings, then capture settings, you can switch to PTT. The first time you set this up, you will be prompted to set up a hotkey.
Whenever you want to talk, you just press and hold the hotkey, and voila!
This is extremely useful, there is often a lot of background noise when you are playing, and, you can also then talk to your family without everyone on teamspeak hearing you!

Joining / Switching Channels
When you first connect, you will be in the CityCraft Home channel. To move into another one, all you need to do is double click the channel name.
Some channels are password protected, and you will be prompted for a password before you can get in. These tend to be the faction chat channels, so you can ask a faction member for the password to these.

Faction Channels
Due to the changes made with regards to the EULA, confirmed details on private/faction channels will be added shortly.

Pokes and Reporting misbehaviour
A good way to get help whilst on the teamspeak server is to poke a mod or admin - mods have a blue M next to their name, and admins have a red S.
To do this, right click on the mods name, select poke, type a short message, and click ok.
When doing this, please bear in mind that mods and admins can sometimes be busy or AFK in a normal channels, and may not reply straight away.

Reason: Added in updated version.
I have stopped playing on the servers.
The community just isn't the same to me as when I started playing.

Wow, this is a really great tutorial. I especially like the video, that guy is a good commentator and explains well. Oh and if I were to install this in the future, what is the server address and port?

Also, does this work on iOS, like iPhone?

I found the app, but there are a lot of issues:

-No voice even though there is a mic
-Doesn't display who's on
-Cant hear anything

I'll just hope to get it on PC soon...

I would prefer the PC version instead of the app, but the app should work too.

Hopefully I will be more active on TeamSpeak soon. :)

Erm, u think that you arent looking hard enough. I was just on TS then with my iPod and it worked as well as the iPad I am in currently work fine, to speak, you press the blue mic button in the middle centre, if you want to see people in the channels, click on citycraft home and cick 'subscribe to all channels'
